KRTI adalah kompetisi yang diadakan oleh Kemenristekdikti, memperlombakan pesawat terbang tanpa awak atau Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Pada KRTI 2017, tim robotik Teknik Elektro mengikuti dua divisi, yaitu VTOL (Vertical Take Off Landing) dan Fixed Wing. Setelah melalui proses seleksi ketat dua tahap, tim Maranatha Aerial Robot Team (MAT) Halley berhasil lolos ke babak final untuk mengikuti penjurian KRTI 2017 di ITS, Surabaya, 16 hingga 20 Oktober 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Tim MAT Halley beranggotakan Chrisendy Halim, Ezra Julio Subagja, Alfian Hermawan, dan Richie Chang, dengan dosen pembimbing Muliady, S.T., M.T. Tim ini telah resmi diberangkatkan mewakili Universitas Kristen Maranatha dalam KRTI 2017 pada Jumat, 13 Oktober 2017. Novie Theresia Br Pasaribu, S.T., M.T. selaku Ketua Program Studi S-1 Teknik Elektro dalam sambutannya mengatakan, \u201cManfaat dari suatu kompetisi itu bukan hanya prestasi, tapi dari sini kami mau melatih rekan-rekan mahasiswa untuk meningkatkan soft skill. Dari kompetisi ini kita bisa melatih kreativitas, melatih emosi dan mental dalam tim yang mungkin tidak sepaham dengan kita, dan dalam kompetisi kita bertemu dengan orang-orang yang lebih hebat, kita diajarkan untuk bisa lebih rendah hati. Menang itu penting, tapi yang lebih penting lagi, yaitu jadi seorang pemenang\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam acara pelepasan keberangkatan ini, Chrisendy sebagai ketua tim menjelaskan tentang nama MAT Halley yang dipilih menjadi nama tim. Halley merupakan nama komet yang jatuh setiap 74-79 tahun sekali dan sangat ditunggu kedatangannya oleh penduduk bumi untuk disaksikan. Sama seperti tim ini, setelah selama tiga tahun vakum dari KRTI, akhirnya tim robotik Maranatha dapat bertanding lagi di ajang bergengsi ini.<\/p>\n<p>Beliau juga menjelaskan tentang pesawat bertipe trainer yang akan diterbangkan di Lapangan Terbang Aeromodelling, Detasemen TNI AU Raci, Pasuruan Jl. Raya Raci, Bangil, Pasuruan, Jawa Timur. Ukuran pesawatnya sendiri cukup besar mencapai dua meter. Tema dari divisi Fixed Wings adalah Monitoring dan Mapping Area Konstruksi. Tim diminta untuk melakukan pengawasan menggunakan pesawatnya untuk menghindari terjadinya hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan, seperti aktivitas mencurigakan saat konstruksi atau informasi terhadap perkembangan konstruksi secara detail. Saat perlombaan, tim MAT Halley akan diberikan kesempatan selama 40 menit untuk menyelesaikan suatu misi di lapangan dan diberikan waktu 20 menit untuk mengolah data di pitstop. Pemenang ditentukan atas misi yang berhasil tercapai sesuai dengan target, baik untuk monitoring maupun mapping.<\/p>\n<p>Setelah melewati masa persiapan selama beberapa bulan, tim MAT Halley akan memulai rangkaian perlombaannya pada hari ini, Selasa, 17 Oktober 2017.
